Garlic’s Health Benefits:
Although garlic is commonly known to cause bad breath, this onion genus packs serious health benefits besides aroma and flavor. The research on this clove proves that it is healthy and nutritious. A 2014 meta-analysis of 14 different studies found that garlic intake may help decrease risk for stomach cancer. Another 2013 meta-analysis on 39 studies discovered that garlic intake greater than 2 months decreased overall cholesterol and lowered LDL cholesterol, while slightly increasing HDL cholesterol levels. Even more, garlic is shown to help weight control. A 2011 study done on mice found that garlic intake increased body temperature and reduced the weight of adipose (fat) tissue.
Hence, garlic is a valuable nutrient to our health in many ways.
