The Professional Science Masters In Applied Nutrition with an Emphasis in Dietetics provides an opportunity for me to enhance my skills in medical nutrition therapy while gaining advanced training and specialized professional development in the clinical dietetic field. I want to advance my knowledge in nutritional counseling, medical nutrition therapy, and client outreach/communications.
Benedictine University provided me with the tools necessary to succeed in my field and has continued to involve me with alumni engagements for future opportunities.
My focus was on sports nutrition and public health promotion. I took part in the nutrition club as vice president. I created a program still thriving today called "Too Great To Waste" which reduced food waste and added compost to our cafeterias. I also conducted health screenings for students on campus, taking their blood pressure and calculating their macro needs. I graduated Cum Summa Laude in 2014.
