 MY APPROACH 

My main force behind my deep desire to help individuals achieve their long-term nutrition goals is driven by my passion for educating others.  My teaching philosophy is ever-evolving, but I have always believed that everyone deserves to have a basic understanding of general dietary recommendations and my goal is for them to learn by "experiencing". I identify problems and create solutions for patients to "experience", thus creating an engaging yet trusting relationship with my patients.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

First AND foremost, knowledge is POWER and the key to successful education models! Therefore, my goal is to educate my patient on facts, help them identify areas of improvement, insinuate moving from the intention stage to contemplation, which sparks cue to action, thus provoking sustainable, long-term behavior change.

Diet Salad
I educate inclusively to individuals and families to create a partnership so that everyone can learn and grow together as a team. Everyone's learning styles differ and is dependent on personality, life stage, and knowledge.

#EDUCATION

Hands-on experimental learning, such as learning how to meal prep to finding a new technique to cooking, to managing time better to fit in exercise is all a part of this "experience" and can instill habits to implement change.

MISSION

Creating a welcoming, safe environment that allows for a trustworthy partnership while inclusively teaching patients how to manage their diagnosis symptoms such as diabetes, hypertension, weight loss, and food allergies

DELIVERY

Vision

Delivering nutrition newsletter content and webinars to the community and at corporate events on health-related topics such as healthy cooking, etc. I give out food guides, grocery lists, and recipes for patient to have material to reflect on while we are away.

MY APPROACH TO
BEHAVIOR CHANGE

I have seen success in my patients' outcomes by using the Precaution-Adoption Process and the behavioral change theory Health Belief Model.

 

I believe that life is not linear and is not meant to be. People move forward then back to learn from mistakes. It is okay to be in the action phase of behavior change and then move backward to intention phase or vice versa.
